How to Use Video Surveillance to Improve Your Ottawa Business
75
It doesn't matter where your business is based - Ottawa or Timbuktu - as business owners we all strive for one thing, improving their overall performance. Whether these improvements come from money-saving tips, theft prevention, increased employee performance, or heightened customer satisfaction, incorporating a smart video surveillance system will refine and enhance every aspect of a company in any market.
Video surveillance is best know for preventing or reducing theft and protecting the assets and people working in the company. Such a system maintains a constant eye on all vulnerable areas of the business. Streaming live video can truly provide a safer work place. in addition, if you can augment your security system's capability with a video analytics component, you can receive alerts whenever an unexpected event take place. This "always on" system can actually replace on-site security personnel, resulting in huge savings for the company.
Another way in which video surveillance can improve your business'
performance is by monitoring the actions and the people that are active
as either clients or employees. This can improve performance monitoring
in order to get the best out of each employee. It can also be used to
improve customer satisfaction. This can be done by reviewing the videos
of day-to-day activities to figure out what systems work best in what
situations throughout the company. Customer satisfaction is very
important for customer service-based businesses and therefore can be
manipulated and improved upon constantly simply by watching the average
customer's reaction to different systems and services within the
company.
Video surveillance can also be used to collect statistics and further
data. This type of data can be used to improve all aspects of a
company. For instance, if a business owner is reviewing material from
the video surveillance system and sees that a much larger number of
shipping palettes are being packaged on a Monday versus a Friday, he or
she could more easily develop a plan to increase production on Friday
by using the data collected from video surveillance solutions.
Nowadays, video surveillance systems are cheaper and easier to deploy than even just a few short years ago. Also, most solutions are very scalable: you only buy what you need today, and you can add features as your business grows. And some of them are even offered on a pay-as-you-go model, making the acquisition that much more painless to the wallet. Video surveillance is one of the smartest ways you can improve your company's performance. Give it a try...you won't regret this cost-reducing investment.

I don't know about anyone else, but if I had a camera over me while I work I would not work! If they can't trust me to do the job then find someone else..
Video is fine when trying to run an improvement exercise as a one off investigation with the co-operation of the workforce but constant surveillance is stressful for the employee..
